Jwala Gutta Slams Samantha For Nebulizer Advice, Asks 'Will You Take Responsibility' For Fatality

Samantha Ruth Prabhas has been in the news since she advised her fans an alternate health treatments. The actress was called out by several celebs and a doctor for contentious medical advice on her podcast Take 20. A recent celeb to join the list is a sports champion Jwala Gutta. She asked Samantha if she'd take responsibility for any fatality caused by her prescription.

Taking to her X handle, the badminton player wrote that she understands the intention of Samantha but just in case the prescription doesn't help then will she take the responsibility of the doctors she tagged in her podcast? "My only question to the celeb who’s prescribing medicine to the huge number of people who are following her… I ustand the intention is to help…. But…just in case..just in case the prescription doesn’t help and causes a fatality…will u be taking the RESPONSIBILITY too????? Will the doctor who you have tagged also take the RESPONSIBILITY??” he post read.

Soon after she dropped the post, her followers seconded her argument. A user wrote, "If something goes wrong for them, they can afford the best treatment. Who knows even Govt would also come forward to help them. But WE WILL DIE HELPLESSLY. That’s it.”  Another wrote, "Thanks for the understanding and clear tweet. Health education and Prescription/ Advice are different entities. Wear Seat Belt and Wear Helmet are examples of health education. A doctor's advice to a patient is for that patient alone and for that time alone. Different patients need different advice."

Samantha Ruth Prabhu issued a clarification on her post about alternative medication

On Friday, the actress took to her Instagram and penned a lengthy note talking about her choices and expressing empathy for those who cannot afford expensive medication.

Samantha wrote: “Over the last couple of years, I've had to take many different types of medicines. I've tried everything I was strongly advised to take. As advised by highly qualified professionals and after doing as much self-research as is possible for a layperson like me. Many of these treatments were also very very expensive."

The actress further mentioned that she often thought about how fortunate she is to afford these treatments and empathised with those who cannot. Samantha said that she consulted a highly qualified doctor who served with DRDO for 25 years, and he was the one who prescribed her the alternative medication. The actress then addressed a social media user who criticised her in a post on X and called for her to be imprisoned for advocating alternative medication. The actress clarified that she shared her post as someone in need of medical treatments, not as a celebrity, and emphasised that she was not profiting from the post or endorsing anyone.
