Three big films from the South that made a lot of noise in 2022 and 2023 are by a single production house. Be it Salaar, KGF or Kantara, all the films that created a huge hype throughout the year are produced by Hombale Films' Vijay Kiragandur. What's interesting about these films are that they all have either released in two parts or have announced a sequel. The producer, who has been promoting the upcoming film Salaar, has revealed why all their films are released in 2 parts.

Producer reveals the reason behind Hombale-backed films releasing in parts

In an interview with 123Telugu, Hombale Films' Vijay Kiragandur said, "To be frank, we didn’t plan to make a second part for KGF when we started the film. After shooting for a few days, the director explained to us that the movie needed to be made in two parts. But the situation isn’t the same for Kantara. We were doubtful if people from other regions would watch a film based on the traditions of Karnataka. Kantara can be made in two to three parts because the story demands. The same is the case with Salaar."

What do we know about Salaar?

Salaar is all set to hit the theaters on December 22. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel, will see a clash with Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki at the box office. Prashanth Neel has also directed the Yash starrer KGF and KGF chapter 2. After Salaar, the filmmaker will focus on the making of KGF 3. Meanwhile, he also has sequel of Salaar in his Kitty.

On the other hand, Kantara, written, directed and acted by Kannada star Rishab Shetty became a cult classic after its release in September 2021. Upon its success, the makers of the film announced a prequel to the film. The film made on a budget of Rs 16 crores earned over Rs 400 crores at the box office.
