Kolkata Woman Detected With Human Coronavirus HKU1: A Kolkata-based woman age 45, from Garia, has been recently diagnosed with Human Coronavirus HKU1, also known as HCoV-HKU1.

The patient is currently under medical supervision at a private hospital in South Kolkata. As per a report, the patient had been experiencing cough, fever, and cold for the past two weeks, although her condition is stable now.

What is Human Coronavirus HKU1?

The other name of Human Coronavirus HKU1 (HCoV-HKU1) is also known as Betacoronavirus Hongkonense. The HCoV-HKU1 causes an upper respiratory disease which was first diagnosed in one Hong Kong man in the year 2004.

  • Close personal contact such as shaking hands.
