The unfortunate incident ended up taking the life of a young boy named Bibhas Ghosh, who succumbed to his injuries at the SSKM hospital. His mother is in a serious condition, and is being operated at the ILS Nursing home.

The West Bengal police said, "It was a high-intensity blast. Four people seriously injured, six injured. Found some iron nails but can't ascertain cause of blast yet as there is no smell of gunpowder."

One of the victim, who was the worker in that sweet shop, spoke exclusively to Republic TV about that incident. He said, "At 9:15 in the morning, there were 5 of us. When we went inside the bathroom, there was a huge noise from outside. After coming outside, we saw 2-3 people lying down and there was smoke all around. Even I got injured after the bathroom door broke from the explosion."

About the kid, who has now succumbed to injuries, the worker added, "When we say the kid, we put water on him." Following the blast, the bomb squad reached at the spot along with the state's police team.
