Three drown in river in Bahraich

Three persons drowned in the Ghaghara river here, an official of the district administration said on Sunday.

Additional District Magistrate, Jai Chandra Pandey, said around 60 villages in the district have been inundated due to release of lakhs of cusecs of water from Nepal.

The three deceased have been identified as Parmesh (16), a resident of Baundi, Santosh alias Bablu (14) and Ram Sanvaare (35), residents of Bechainpurva.

Divers were pressed into action to fish out the bodies.

The bodies have been handed over to the families of the deceased after postmortem.
