WATCH: Tall BSNL Tower Teeters Dangerously Before Finally Collapsing Due To Force Of Cyclone Fani In Cuttack, Odisha

Cyclone Fani which is currently raging across Odisha, on Friday, has left a lot of damaged structures in its wake. As rains and strong winds continue along the coastal parts of Odisha, Republic TV has captured a teetering BSNL cell tower which precarious swayed in the winds for several seconds, before ultimately crashing to the ground, uprooting its base structure with it. No casualties were reported.

Earlier in the day, severe damages to AIIMS Bhubaneswar have been reported due to Cyclone Fani. In a video clip posted by Press Information Bureau, the roof of the undergraduate hostel in AIIMS Bhubaneshwar is seen being blown off due to the effect of Cyclone Fani.

Another video shows extensive damage to the structure of AIIMS Bhubaneswar due to Cyclone Fani. Many water tanks have blown off, lighting polls are down and air conditioners have suffered damages. The patients, students and other staff members are safe.

While the forecast says that the very severe cyclonic storm “Fani” is very likely to continue to move north-northeastwards, it is set to weaken further into a severe cyclonic storm during the next six hours.

Predictions for the next 24 hours stand as such:

-Heavy to very heavy rains expected in Bihar and Jharkhand.
-Rest of the parts will also observe moderate rain and thundershowers.
-The cyclone will further move towards Northeast India.
-Weather conditions will then become dry and temperatures will start increasing once again. 

Meanwhile, BJP chief Amit Shah and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee have cancelled their election rallies in the wake of the Cyclone Fani. Over 100 trains have either been cancelled or diverted in order to prevent any damages. Furthermore, flights have also been cancelled to and from Kolkata and Bhubaneswar airport.
