BJP MLA in Ayodhya initiates gesture of amity, leads Hindus to gift Muslims land 'as a token of brotherhood''

In a gesture that could cool the friction between Muslims and Hindus and 'perhaps could have paved the way for a solution to the Ram temple dispute, Hindus in Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh have decided to donate land to Muslims for their use. The land is now going to be a burial ground.

In a gesture that could cool the friction between Muslims and Hindus and 'perhaps could have paved the way for a solution to the Ram temple dispute, Hindus in Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh have decided to donate land to Muslims to use as a burial ground. 

Local BJP MLA Khabbu Tiwari initiated this gesture towards Muslims. He said that the tradition of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood in Ayodhya was not new. He added that the land was a small token of love from Hindus to Muslims. He also said that he hoped that the friendship between the communities will continue.

This piece of land in Belarikhan village has been donated under the Gosaiganj Assembly constituency in Ayodhya. This land had been an apple of discord between the two religious communities for years until now.

Surya Kumar Jhinkan Maharaj, a local seer and eight other shareholders, agreed and signed the papers for 1,25 bissas of land on June 20 to bury the conflict forever.

The land deed's other signatories are Ram Prakash Bablu, Ram Singar Pandey, Ram Shabad, Jiya Ram, Subhash Chandra, Rita Devi, Vindhyachal and Awadhesh Pandey.
Surya Kumar said that the land belonged to Hindus as per records, it is by the side of a graveyard and some Muslims have buried their loved ones on the land. There were many arguments and disputes about the same but now the matter has been settled. 

The agreement is now in favour of the Qabristan Committee, Gosainganj and it will soon be fed in the revenue records, President of the Qabristan Committee, Vais Ansari said. 
S.B Singh the sub-registrar confirmed that transfer of land to the Muslims for the graveyard and told media publications that it is a gift from the Hindu community through a proper deed and stamp duty.
