Pushpesh Kumar, a senior Bihar Administrative Service official posted as an Official on Special Duty (OSD) to District Magistrate Darbhanga has alleged that BJP MP Kirti Azad has abused him when he made a phone call to Darbhanga MP on his mobile number 9810532780, from his official no. 8544412322 on October 1 at 9:22 pm.

On the phone call, Pushpesh Kumar requested BJP MP Azad to participate in a programme against dowry, child marriage and to promote cleanliness to be organized on October 2 and be inaugurated through webcasting by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Pushpesh Kumar asserts that as soon as the MP received his call and finished listening to his invitation request, he started abusing him as he said, ‘Saale maarenge chaar joota. Tumhari aukat kaise hui mujhse baat karne ki? Main 20 saal se MP hoon. Ja mere PA se baat kar’ (I will hit you with shoes. How dare you  talk to me? I have been an MP for the past 20 years. Go and talk to my PA).

Seemingly, Pushpesh was taken aback and went in shock and dismay after hearing the misconduct of a Lok Sabha MP. In order to protect his honour, he has written a letter demanding actions against the Darbhanga MP. He has addressed the letter to the District Magistrate of Darbhanga, Chandrashekhar Singh. A copy of the letter has been sent to Election Commission of India, Prime Minister’s Office, Lok Sabha Speaker, Bihar Chief Minister’s Office, National Human Rights Commission, Commissioner of Darbhanga, Principal Secretary Personnel-Government of Bihar and President of Bihar Administrative Service Association.

BJP MP KIRTI AZAD

In response to the allegation, Bihar MP Kirti Azad has posted a message on his social media handle in which he said, ‘I have just returned from Agra and have come to know that some officer from District Magistrate Office has alleged me for using abusive language. It is quite surprising that when the concerned officer had called me I was busy in some programme and his voice was not audible. Then, I told him that please talk to my P A. I have not read his complaint. If he has any evidence against me for using abusive language like any audio or recording, then he should produce it, else I will file a defamation case of Rs 5 crore against him. In the year of election, one cannot defame anyone without any evidence. He should tender an apology, else he should be ready for defamation.

In retaliation to the Bihar MP’s comment, Pushpesh Kumar replied that ‘we don’t record official  phone calls and the protocol also does not allow it. But, the incident is true that the honourable MP abused me over the phone and it has hurt my honour as a govt servant. I want justice and for this I have written letters to the higher authorities for necessary action to be against the MP.

The Bihar Administrative Service Association has called for an emergency meeting on October 3. Pushpesh also recounted that this is not the first time BJP MP Kirti Azad has been involved in such incident earlier also.

Last year as well Kirti Azad had abused a sub-divisional officer names Safiq Ahmad. During then, the Bihar Administrative Service Association has decided to boycott all programmes and meetings of Kirti Azad. His open spat with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is well known as he had alleged the Finance Minister of being involved in financial irregularities in DDCA (Delhi District Cricket Association).

After his open allegation against Arun Jaitley, BJP has suspended Kirti Azad from the primary membership of the party. It is expected that Azad, son of former Bihar CM Bhagwat Jha Azad may contest Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket. His father was also a Congressman.
