Brown sugar worth Rs 1 lakh seized in Odisha, woman held

At least 12 gram of brown sugar, worth over Rs 1 lakh, was seized in Odisha's Balasore district on Saturday, and a woman was arrested in this connection, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police personnel apprehended the woman near Aradbazar area in Balasore town after the contraband was recovered from her possession, they said.

A case has been started under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, an officer of the Sahadevkhunta Police Station said.
