Delhi: 44-year-old woman allegedly gets killed by landlord & his son

The 44-year-old widow Manju Goel a resident of Delhi was allegedly beaten to death by her landlord Satish Pahwa and his son over suspicion of theft in Delhi

The 44-year-old widow Manju Goel, a resident of Delhi was allegedly beaten to death by her landlord Satish Pahwa and his son on Saturday over suspicion of theft in Mehrauli, Delhi. The Delhi police arrested both the accused of murder after the incident was reported at the Mehrauli police station. The deceased Manju was living in a rented house for the last six months. She was working as a domestic help to earn her daily needs. 

Allegedly beaten to death by the landlord

According to Mukesh Jindal, Manju's brother the landlord had accused Manju of stealing a huge amount of cash from his house. After he found out about the alleged robbery he along with his son trashed Manju mercilessly. Mukesh has accused Satish Pahwa, his son and other members including maid of murdering his sister.

"We got a call at around 8 am on Saturday. Her landlord informed that she (deceased) has committed theft in the house and they have beaten her. Pahwa family accused my sister of stealing Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh in cash. Even they took Rs 60,000 of her savings claiming that they have recovered their money," Mukesh said.

Succumbed to injuries

After receiving the call from the landlord, Mukesh along with his wife and friend rushed to Manju's home. There they found Manju in a very serious condition. They took injured Manju to his residence and did not inform the police as they were busy due to their catering business. They called a doctor for treating Manju at home itself, however, Manju succumbed to her injuries later in the day. Later, the police were informed. The body of the deceased has been sent for autopsy and further investigation is underway. Manju was survived by two children who live in Haryana's Rewari with her in-laws.
