The air quality has been degrading with each passing day, making it difficult for the citizens to survive in the national capital. Not just difficulty in breathing, it has become the cause of several harmful problems also, including lungs and heart diseases.

Therefore, to tackle the problem of air pollution, the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) sponsored a campaign in 2016, which was prompted by a social media experiment promoted through a popular YouTube video. The campaign introduced the idea of selling freshly packaged air, in Delhi in the wake of excessive pollution in the city.

During that period of time, the video resulted in enormous support from the people of the national capital who were suffering from harmful air pollution.

While air pollution was just a warning two years back, it has now become an unavoidable reality.

In the wake of the constant 'poor' quality of air in the national capital, many popular companies like Auzair, Vitality Air and Pure Himalayan Air have actually come up with bottled fresh air. Yes, you read that right!

Indian brand Pure Himalayan Air is selling a can of 10 Litres fresh air for Rs 550. Reportedly, the idea originally came from a Canadian company named Vitality Air which started selling bottled fresh air across the globe. Joining the league is the Australia-based brand named Auzair, which is also selling bottled fresh air products in India at a whopping Rs 1500 for 7.5 litres of fresh air.

While there was a time when fresh air came free to us, it only seems like it has become quite a luxury now.

Meanwhile, the Central Pollution Control Board has issued show-cause notices to South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) and East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) for their inefficiency in controlling the air pollution in Delhi-NCR over the past week. Air quality in the national capital was recorded with mild improvement on Saturday. CPCB reported, the overall air quality index (AQI) of Delhi was 299, under the 'poor' category on Sunday.
