Mumbai Rains forecast: IMD predicts 3-days heavy downpour in and around the city, Police issues advisory

Amidst heavy downpour in the city of Mumbai, Mumbai Police has said that heavy to very heavy rains are expected in the next three days as per intimation recieved by Metereological Department.

Amidst heavy downpour in the city of Mumbai, Mumbai Police has said that heavy to very heavy rains are expected in the next three days as per intimation recieved by Metereological Department.

Taking to Twitter the Commissioner of Mumbai Police informed that people of Mumbai should first check weather reports and then plan the day accordingly. He also said that in case of any problem Mumbai Police is available for help.

Mumbai Police has been updating the citizens about the condition of roads and rains all through the day on July 1 using hashtag #MumbaiRainsLive

Waterlogged roads once again became a common sight in many parts of the city as a result of the heavy downpour. Trains on the Western and Central line slowed down services after reports of water stagnating on the tracks came to light. Many schools across the city declared a holiday on July 1. 

Rough to very rough sea conditions (with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph) is likely to prevail over west-central and adjoining southwest Arabian Sea, south and adjoining central Bay of Bengal; the North Bay of Bengal and along and off south Gujarat-Maharashtra-Goa coasts. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised fishermen not to venture into these areas. 

Meanwhile, Western Railway released help desk numbers for passengers in the wake of heavy rainfall crippling normal life in Mumbai with train delays on Western, Central and Harbour line.
