A stampede-like situation arose at a shopping mall in Siddipet of Hyderabad city after women thronged in large numbers to buy sarees priced at Rs 10 each. When a shopping mall in Telangana announced that it would be selling sarees for Rs 10 each, the owners should have at least anticipated any chaos. However, when the store opened for the sale, the management and store staff were ill-prepared. On the day of the sale, over 400 women and girls rushed to avail Rs 10 sarees being offered by the CMR shopping mall and as word spread the number of customers began to swell creating a stampede.

The chaos that led to a stampede-like situation left four women and the mall manager getting booked by the police for negligence.
