Earlier on Thursday, in another educational reform, the Uttar Pradesh state cabinet had approved the draft Uttar Pradesh Private Universities Ordinance 2019 in which there is a clause where private universities are required to sign an undertaking that they will not undertake 'anti-national' activities. It gives the state government to take action if a university is found involved in any such activity. The policy will be presented before the cabinet in the upcoming assembly session.

Educational reform has been a major focus for the Modi government 2.0, where earlier on June 3, the Centre revised their National Education Policy 2019 (NEP 2019) with no mention of Hindi as a compulsory language in the three-language formula and stating that 'students free to choose any language they want'.

While Sena recently gained two cabinet seats in the Maharashtra state cabinet expansion, the party is reportedly eying the Chief Minister's post for Uddhav's son Aaditya Thackeray if the BJP-Sena alliance wins the state elections. Many Shiv Sena leaders have publically expressed the party's wishes to see Aaditya ascend the post.
