As the Central Board of Secondary education declared Class 10 result on May 6, Monday, National Conference chief Omar Abdullah took to Twitter to congratulate her nephew to who passed Class 10 with flying colours.
Hours after the result was declared, Abdullah said that his nephew scored 92.6% and in class 10 exam and congratulated him and his mother for all the hard work they had done.
Class 10 exams were conducted from February 2 to March 29, while Class 12 board exams were held from February 15 to 4 April. This year, over 27 lakh candidates appeared for the Class 10 CBSE exams.
The overall pass percentage is 91.1%, which is an increase from last year's 86.4%. 13 students scored 499 out of 500 marks, 25 students scored 498 out of 500 marks, 58 students have scored 497 out of 500 marks.
Last week, the results for Class 12 exam were announced way ahead of the schedule. The CBSE was also ahead of the ICSE board which is the first to announce the results every year. The results of class 12 were announced within 28 days of the last date of the examination. The Class 12 examination began on February 16, earlier than previous years. The results, which is usually announced by the third week of May. Around 13 lakh students appeared for the examination.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Smriti Irani also congratulated her daughter for successfully clearing Class 10 examination.
