All bypoll results: BJP wins 16 seats, Cong 14, NCP, LNJP bag LS seats

The By-polls results in the country were out on Thursday evening after the counting of votes. The by-polls were held in 51 constituencies in 17 states.

The By-polls results in the country were out on Thursday evening, October 24 after the counting of votes. The by-polls were held in 51 constituencies in 17 states. While the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured 16 votes, the Congress party has secured 14 votes. Along with it, the Lok Sabha by-polls were held in two constituencies of Maharashtra (Satara) and Bihar (Samastipur) each. According to the results, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) have retained their Lok Sabha constituencies. Apart from the by-polls, the counting of votes of assembly elections was held in Maharashtra and Haryana where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured its mark in both the states. Here is the detailed report of the results of all the bypolls that were held on October 24. 

Uttar Pradesh bypoll result

In Uttar Pradesh, the bypolls were conducted in 11 constituencies. According to the result, the BJP has won seven seats of Gangoh, Lucknow Cantt, Iglas, Manikpur, Balha and Govindnagar. The Samajwadi Party (SP) has bagged three seats of Zaidpur, Jalalpur and Rampur. Apna Dal Sonelal (AD (S)) bagged one seat in Pratapgarh constituency.

Bihar bypoll result

In Bihar, the bypolls were conducted in five constituencies. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has bagged two seats in Simri Bakhtiarpur and Belhar. On the other hand, the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has bagged one seat in Kishanganj, and the Janata Dal (United) has bagged one seat in Nathnagar constituency. Further, an independent candidate has bagged one seat in Daraundha constituency.

Gujarat bypoll result

In Gujarat, the bypoll elections were conducted in six constituencies. The BJP has bagged three seats in Kheralu, Amraiwadi and Lunawada constituencies, while the Indian National Congress (INC) has bagged three seats in Tharad, Radhanpur and Bayad.

  • Tharad: Rajput Gulsabsinh Pirabhai (INC)
  • Kheralu: Ajmalji Valaji Thakor (BJP)
  • Amraiwadi: Jagdhish Ishwarbhai Patel (BJP)
  • Lunawada: Jigneshkumar Sevak (BJP)
  • Radhanpur: Desai Raghubhai Merajbhai (INC)
  • Bayad: Patel Jashubhai Shivabhai (INC)

Punjab bypoll result

In Punjab, the bypolls were conducted in four constituencies. While, Congress has won 3 seats of Phagwara, Mukerian and Jalalabad while Shiromani Akali Dal has bagged Dakha seat.

  • Phagwara: Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal (INC)
  • Mukerian: Indu Bala (INC)
  • Jalalabad: Raminder Singh Awla (INC)
  • Dakha: Manpreet Singh Ayali (SAD)

Himachal Pradesh bypoll result

In Himachal Pradesh, the bypolls were conducted in two constituencies- Dharamshala and Pachhad. 

  • Dharamshala: Vishal Nehria (BJP)
  • Pachhad: Reena Kashyap (BJP)

Assam bypoll result

In Assam, the bypolls were conducted in four constituencies. The BJP has bagged three seats in Ratabari, Rangapara and Sonari, while the All India United Democratic Front has bagged one seat in Jania. 

  • Ratabari: Bijoy Malakar (BJP)
  • Jania: Rafiqul Islam (All India United Democratic Front)
  • Rangapara: Rajen Borathakur (BJP)
  • Sonari: Nabanita Handique (BJP)

Kerala bypoll result

In Kerala, the bypolls were held in five constituencies. The INC has secured two seats in Eranakulam and Aroor each, while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has secured two seats in Konni and Vattiyoorkavu each. Further, the Indian Union Muslim League has secured one seat in Manjeshwar.

  • Aroor: Adv.Shanimol Osman (INC)
  • Konni: Adv. K.U.Jenish Kumar (Communist Party of India (Marxist))

Rajasthan bypoll result

In Rajasthan, the bypolls were held in two constituencies. While the INC has secured one seat in Mandawa, the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party has secured one seat in Khinwsar.

  • Khinwsar: Narayan Beniwal (Rashtriya Loktantrik Party)

Sikkim bypoll result

In Sikkim, the bypolls were conducted in three constituencies. The BJP has bagged two seats in Gangtok and Martam-Rumtek each. The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha has bagged one seat in Poklok-Kamrang constituency.

  • Poklok-Kamrang: Prem Singh Tamang (Sikkim Krantikari Morcha)
  • Martam-Rumtek (BL): Sonam Tsh Venchungpa (BJP)

Tamil Nadu bypoll result

In Tamil Nadu, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has bagged their seats in the two constituencies- Vikravandi and Nanguneri.

Arunachal Pradesh bypoll result

In Arunachal Pradesh, the bypoll was conducted in one constituency of the state- Khonsa West. An independent candidate is heading the constituency.

Madhya Pradesh bypoll result

In Madhya Pradesh, the bypoll was conducted in one constituency of the state- Jhabua. The Indian National Congress (INC) has bagged the seat.

Meghalaya bypoll result

In Meghalaya, the bypoll was conducted in one constituency of the state- Shella. A candidate from the United Democratic Party has bagged the seat. 

  • Shella: Balajied Kupar Synrem (UDP)

Odisha bypoll result

In Odisha, the bypoll was conducted in one constituency of the state- Bijenpur. The Biju Janata Dal party has secured a seat in the constituency. 

  • Bijenpur: Rita Sahu (BJD)

Pudducherry bypoll result

In Pudducherry, the bypoll was conducted in one constituency of the state- Kamaraj Nagar. The Indian National Congress has won the seat.

Telangana bypoll result

In Telangana, the bypoll was conducted in one constituency of the state- Huzurnagar. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has secured its seat in the constituency.

Lok Sabha bypolls

The Lok Sabha (LS) bypolls were held on Thursday in two states- Maharashtra and Bihar. In Maharashtra, the Lok Sabha bypolls were held in Satara, while in Bihar, it was held in Samastiapur. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Maharashtra and the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) in Bihar have retained their Lok Sabha constituencies.
