Take a look at some of the 2019 polls declared by the Election Commission only a month ahead of elections.

In India's first election in 1951, there were 173 million eligible voters.

In the last 2014 election, 38,325 voters identified as transgender, recognised by Supreme Court as the third gender had placed their votes.

Number of polling stations

There will be nearly one million polling stations, up 10.1% from the 2014 elections, CEC Sunil Arora had said. Along with this , 2.33 million ballot units, 1.63 million control units and 1.74 million VVPATs (voter verifiable paper audit trails) have also been fixed for the elections.
