Apologise or entire film fraternity will stand against Samajwadi Party: Film association warns Azam Khan over lewd remark against Jaya Prada

The Federation of Western Cine Employees (FWICE) has condemned the lewd remark made by Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan against actor-BJP leader Jaya Prada. Expressing solidarity with the latter, the film association sought an ‘unconditional apology’ from the SP leader for his 'salacious comments and warned him that the industry would stand strongly against the party if he doesn’t apologise.

The Federation of Western Cine Employees (FWICE) has condemned the lewd remark made by Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan against actor-BJP leader Jaya Prada. Director Ashoke Pandit shared the statement on Twitter with the caption, “Federation Of Western India Cine Employees condemns the irresponsible behaviour of #AzamKhan against our respected member of the film Industry Madame Jaya Pradha ji. We appeal to the Election Commission to take strict action against the said politician.”

Here’s what the statement says, “We have been endorsed through the recent Media Reports about the controversial derogatory comments of Shri Azam Khan on Smt. Jaya Prada, who has been senior most & one of the highly respectable actresses in the film Fraternity of India. These salacious comments of Shri Azam Khan has disturbed the sentiments of lakhs of followers and supporters of Respectable Smt. Jaya Prada Ji. She had a huge contribution to the entertainment industry and the Indian economy as well. 

“The Samajwadi party leader Azam Khan has been a habitual offender by passing on indecent comments especially on ladies for which he has also been expelled by the Samajwadi Party for six long years. On behalf of 5 lakh workers and technicians of the entire film Fraternity of India, we strongly condemn the remarks of Shri Azam Khan against Smt. Jaya Prada and we strongly stand in unity for the protest against him. Protests have been initiated from all corners of the Nation and that such obscene behaviour for women shall not be tolerated in silence in this era of women empowerment. 

“We hereby seek an unconditional apology in writing and openly in front of the nation from Shri Azam Khan for his immoral behaviour and disrespect towards women. Failing which, the Entire Film Fraternity will stand strongly against the Samajwadi Party and ensure non-co-operation to the party.” (sic) 

Khan and Prada are both contesting from the Rampur constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

While addressing a rally in the ciy on Sunday, the former said, " I brought her (Jaya Prada) to Rampur. You are a witness that I did not allow anyone to touch her body. It took you 17 years to identify her real face but I got to know in 17 days that she wears khaki  underp ****."

Union Ministers Smriti Irani, Sushma Swaraj and many other leaders condemned the shocking comments and demanded that the Samajwadi Party takes action against Khan.
