BJP Ministers hail PM Modi's picture with Shivaji in the background
PM Modi’s picture with Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the background was hailed by a few BJP ministers during an election campaign rally in Panvel on Wednesday.

On Wednesday night a few leaders took to Twitter and hailed PM Modi’s picture with Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj in background. This picture was taken while PM Modi was addressing a rally at Panvel on Thursday morning. With less than a week left for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections on October 21, BJP and Shiv Sena have been campaigning vigorously in the state. PM Modi also visited Akola and Jalna in Maharashtra along with Panvel on Wednesday.

PM Modi’s rally at Panvel, Akola, and Jalna
The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi while addressing a rally in Panvel at Maharashtra appreciated his relationship with the current CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis. He said that “The Narendra-Devendra formula has been a superhit in the last five years. When Narendra-Devendra stands together, 1+1 becomes 11”. PM Modi during his tweet also invoked Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and said the government has taken inspiration from the legendary Maratha king for good governance and development for the people. PM Modi claimed the work on the Navi Mumbai International Airport is in full swing and new infrastructure projects to bolster mobility in Mumbai and its adjoining areas are also underway.
“Soon, aircraft will fly off from Navi Mumbai airport, vehicles will drive over the 22 km-long Trans Harbour Link road, Metro network will expand in Panvel and Thane region.”

A call to reduce single-use plastic
The leader also appealed to fisherfolk in Konkan to reduce the use of single-use plastic. This comes after multiple government objectives to eradicate the polluting material by 2022 are in place. He also highlighted that the Centre formed a separate Department of Fisheries to address the needs and concerns of the fisherfolk community. He further called for greater efforts in water conservation.
