Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who recently joined active politics as Congress General Secretary from eastern Uttar Pradesh, will commence her 3-day long 'Ganga Yatra' on March 18, 2019. Top sources have informed Republic TV that the newly-inducted Congress leader will cover a distance of 140 km on a steamer boat, starting from Chhatnag in Prayagraj.
As per Sources, Mrs. Vadra during her 3-day tour will meet locals and villagers to get an on-ground picture of the state before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. She will conclude her 'Ganga Yatra' at Assi Ghat in Varanasi.
Meanwhile, just over a month after she joined the social media website, and on the day she addressed her first-ever rally after joining politics and officially becoming a Congress leader, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra posted her first tweet.
She spoke about Sabarmati in her first two posts since becoming active on Twitter.
Immediately after the first post, another one with a picture of Sabarmati Ashram and a message referring to a quote by Mahatma Gandhi followed.
The tweets came on a day when the younger of the Gandhi siblings addressed her first-ever rally in Gandhinagar, Gujarat after joining politics.
In the presence of her brother and Congress president Rahul Gandhi, she expressed her satisfaction on coming to Gujarat for the first time and visiting the Sabarmati Ashram, from where Mahatma Gandhi began his Dandi march.
Priyanka then shifted her attention to the upcoming elections which is less than a month away by stating that country is presently going a tough time under the BJP regime and what people should do to secure their future.
"Your vote is a weapon, but it is a weapon through which no one should be hurt or wounded. It is a weapon which we make the people strong. People have to deeply think about what they are going to choose. They are going to choose their future. Unwanted issues should not be raised, but only the issues like jobs for youths, women empowerment, farmer issues should be raised," she said.
