Haryana Exit Poll: BJP candidate Dura Ram Projected To Win Fatehabad

As per Jan Ki Baat's exit poll, BJP candidate Dura Ram is projected to win the Haryana assembly election from the Fatehabad constituency over INC and others

With voting in the Haryana assembly elections having concluded, Republic TV-Jan Ki Baat on Monday released the exit poll for the state to get a snapshot projection of what to expect on counting day. The exit poll survey is done using Jan Ki Baat Probability Map Of Outcome model (PMOO) which is backed by issue wise location matrix. Further, the data is collected through a network of verified field investigator and data analysts.

The BJP candidate, Dura Ram, who is projected to win the Haryana Assembly elections as per the exit poll, is contesting against Suman Lata from Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), Zile Singh Verma from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Prahlad Singh Gillakhera from Congress. 

BJP projected to win in Haryana

As per the Jan Ki Baat exit poll, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is projected to win the assembly polls in Haryana this year. According to the exit poll, BJP is projected to get 52 to 63 seats. On the other hand, the Congress is projected to get 19 to 15 seats, Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) to get 9 to 5 seats, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) to get one to zero seats, while the remaining parties to get 9 to 7 seats.

2014 Fatehabad Assembly polls

In 2014 Assembly elections in Fatehabad constituency, Dura Ram had lost to an Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate- Balwan Singh Daulatpuria. Daulatpuria had won by over 3,000 votes. In the 2009 elections, Dura Ram was defeated by Independent candidate Prahlad Singh Gillakhera.

2014 Haryana Assembly elections

According to the Jan ki Baat's projection, the BJP is projected to do better in this year's Assembly elections compared to the 2014 assembly elections. The BJP, in 2014, had gained a seat share of 47 seats. On the other hand, the projection for the Congress appears to be dismissal with the Congress projected to get almost the same seat share and the vote share like the last election.
