Haryana Exit poll: Independent Dinesh Kaushik likely to win in Pundri

With voting in the Haryana assembly elections having concluded, Republic TV-Jan Ki Baat on Monday released the exit poll for the state to get a snapshot projection of what to expect on counting day. The exit poll survey is done using Jan Ki Baat Probability Map Of Outcome model (PMOO) which is backed by issue wise location matrix. Further, the data is collected through a network of verified field investigator and data analysts.

According to Republic-Jan Ki Baat's exit poll, an independent candidate Dinesh Kaushik is projected to win the Haryana assembly elections from the Pundri constituency against the other candidates. Kaushik is contesting against Gian Singh from Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), Sunita Dool from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Satbir Bhana from Congress and Vedpal Advocate from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Haryana Assembly elections in Pundri this year.

The exit poll survey

As per the Republic-Jan Ki Baat's exit poll, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is projected to win the assembly polls in Haryana this year. According to the exit poll, BJP is likely to get 52 to 63 seats (56%). On the other hand, the Congress is projected to get 19 to 15 seats (18%), Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) is projected to get 9 to 5 seats (10%), Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) is projected to get one to zero seats, while the remaining parties are projected to get 9 to 7 seats (16%).

Haryana Assembly polls

The 90-seats Haryana Assembly polls had started at 7 AM and concluded at 6 PM on Monday. According to the Election Commission's announcement, the counting will be done on October 24. Reports stated that Haryana tightened its security with more than 40,000 police personnel and over 13,000 paramilitary personnel. Along with this, more than 20,000 Home Guards and Special Police Officers were deployed. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is contesting against the opposition Congress and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). The current term for Haryana's Assembly will come to an end on November 2. Further, as per reports, out of the 90 Assembly constituencies in the state, 17 seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 73 seats fall under the General category.
