Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) candidate Dushyant Chautala is up against the Bharatiya Janata Party's sitting MLA Prem Lata in Uchana Kalan seat of the Haryana Assembly. Chautala had secured 72,194 votes in 2014, giving a victory margin of 7,480 votes to Prem Lata. The seat in the Jind district has 15 candidates in the fray including Congress' Balram Katwal and Indian National Lok Dal's Satpal Gandakhera. There are around 1.9 lakh voters in Uchana Kalan constituency.

As per Republic-Jan Ki Baat's Opinion poll based on ground surveys ahead of the Haryana assembly elections, the Uchana Kalan seat is likely to witness JJP's Dushyant Chautala beating others to win the seat. The BJP is likely to increase its seats to the range of 58-70 whereas the JJP may win five to eight seats. Congress is likely to get 12-18 seats whereas INLD may only just manage to open its account.
