Here's PM Modi's high praise for former President Pranab Mukherjee in singular appeal to bolster 2019 election voter turnout

PM Modi requested former President of India Pranab Mukherjee to appeal to the people to participate in the electoral process to enrich the festival of democracy. He further regarded Pranab Mukherjee as "among India's most prolific statesman and someone who has been active in politics for decades" adding that he would understand the power of vote.

Lok Sabha 2019 polls are hardly less than a month away and the citizens are gearing up to cast their votes to choose the new government. Encouraging the voters to come in large numbers to vote in the General elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi started a campaign on social media appealing to prominent political leaders, Bollywood and sports personalities among others to appeal people to vote.

In one of his tweet, PM Modi requested former President of India Pranab Mukherjee to appeal to the people to participate in the electoral process to enrich the festival of democracy. He further regarded Pranab Mukherjee as "among India's most prolific statesman and someone who has been active in politics for decades" adding that he would understand the power of vote.

The Election Commission on Sunday announced the dates of General Elections 2019. The nation will go into polls in seven phases beginning from April 11 till May 19. The counting of votes for all the states is scheduled to take place on May 23. 

On Sunday, PM Modi had extended congratulatory message to the Election Commission and to the voters of the nation who are going to elect its new government. In a series of tweets, PM Modi had urged the Indians to enrich the Lok Sabha election with their active participation, adding that the festival of democracy - elections - are here.
