Maharashtra Elections: Preity Zinta casts her votes, see pics

As Maharashtra went to polls on October 21, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta was seen arriving at a polling station in Mumbai to cast her vote

Polling began on October 21st, 2019, in all 288 Assembly constituencies of Maharashtra where 3,237 candidates, including 235 women, are contesting elections. Several Bollywood stars including Aamir Khan, Dia Mirza, Govinda, were seen coming forward to vote and execute their rights. Recently, actress Preity Zinta was seen arriving at a polling station in Mumbai. After casting her vote, the actress posed for the shutterbugs flaunting her inked finger.

Meanwhile, Preity Zinta has also put out a video on social media urging fellow Mumbaikars to exercise their rights. "Today is a very very important day for Mumbai, so, all the Mumbaikars please go out and vote. Make a difference," the actress can be heard saying in the clip she shared on her Instagram handle. She further captioned the post saying, "Start this Diwali season with a bang 👍 Pls go vote and make a difference. #votekar"

Meanwhile, other Bollywood celebrities including Aamir Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Lara Dutta, Ravi Kishan, Padmini Kolhapure and Subha Khote were also spotted arriving at their respective polling booths.

Maharashtra elections

Maharashtra polls kick-started on 288 constituencies at 7 am on Monday and will continue till 6 o'clock in the evening. In Mumbai, 9,894 polling stations have been set up at 1,537 locations. Mumbai which has around 97.72 lakh registered voters, will contest election for 36 seats with around 334 candidates in the fray. Counting of votes will be held on October 24. In the 288-member Assembly, the Bharatiya Janata Party is contesting on 164 seats, which includes candidates of smaller allies. Shiv Sena has fielded 126 candidates. Congress, on the other hand, has candidates in 147 constituencies and NCP will contest 121 seats.
