Maharashtra Exit Poll: BJP's Pankaja Munde Projected To Retain Parli

As Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections concluded, the Republic-Jan Ki Baat Exit Poll has projected BJP's Pankaja Munde winning from the Parli seat.

With Maharashtra and Haryana elections concluding on Monday, all eyes will now keenly await the results for the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra and 90 assembly seats in Haryana. In the bigger of the two - Maharashtra - Republic-Jan Ki Baat Exit Poll has projected that the BJP-Sena alliance is expected to emerge victorious. The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) coalition of Congress-NCP in Maharashtra is projected to be lagging by a big margin. In the Parli seat of Maharashtra, Pankaja Munde of the BJP was contesting against Dhananjay Panditrao Munde of the NCP.

Jan Ki Baat- Republic TV's Exit Poll 

The Parli assembly seat in the Marathwada region and Beed district of Maharashtra saw National Congress Party member, Dhananjay Panditrao Munde, contesting against Gopinath Munde's daughter Pankaja Munde. Jan Ki Baat-Republic TV's Exit Poll projected Pankaja Munde winning from the Parli seat.

2014 Assembly elections result

During the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly elections, In the 2014 Maharashtra Assembly elections, Pankaja Munde of the BJP won by defeating the NCP candidate by a margin of 25,895 votes which was 13.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 49.56% in 2014 in the seat. Pankaja also won from the seat in 2009.

Overall Exit poll

As per the overall exit poll, The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is projected to secure an overall of 216 to 230 seats with incumbent BJP projected to win a significant majority of around 135 to 142 seats. BJP's ally Shiv Sena can be seen securing around 81 to 88 seats in Maharashtra. Sharad Pawar's NCP is predicted to win 30 to 35 seats. Meanwhile, Congress can be seen winning 20 to 24 seats to the UPA alliance. 

Jan ki Baat projections also show that AIMIM is likely to be limited to a sole seat in Mumbai. Raj Thackeray's MNS is projected to come out empty-handed with 0 seats in the exit poll. According to the predictions, BJP is likely to secure 33% of vote share, followed by Shiv Sena at 24%. Sharad Pawar's NCP predicted to secure 15% vote share and Congress falling behind with 11%.
