Veteran Bollywood actor and BJP MLA Paresh Rawal has taken a sly dig at the Congress president Rahul Gandhi for his "Masood Azhar ji" comment using the reference of Pakistan Imran Khan and Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Taking to Twitter, Paresh Rawal, much like his fellow party leaders, ripped into the Gandhi scion for his remark on the Jaish-e-Mohammed chief. Though, unlike his peers, he did not lash out at Rahul Gandhi, but instead, hit the nail in a whole different manner.

Referring to Pakistan's Prime Minister and Army chief, the BJP MLA mentioned that those two would now come running to India to campaign for the Congress following Rahul Gandhi's statement.

"Imran Khan and gen Bajwa on their way to India for Cong campaigning...!" his Twitter post read.

Rahul Gandhi, while addressing his party workers on Monday, was trying to attack the BJP government and NSA Ajit Doval. The Congress president referred to Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government's decision to release Masood Azhar in exchange for the safe return of the passengers of hijacked plane IC-814 in 1999 to fire a salvo at the Modi government. But his latest attack backfired, as, during his speech, he referred to the Jaish chief as 'ji'.

"40 CRPF soldiers lost their lives. Who was responsible for the bombing? Listen, it was Jaish-e-Mohammad. Masood Azhar. Do you remember? Now, the one who has 56-inch chest, do you remember that during his previous government, the Security Advisor Ajit Doval sat with Masood Azhar Ji in an aircraft and handed him over to Kandahar," he said.

This isn't the first time that a Congress leader has honored a terrorist with such words.

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, before calling the Pulwama terror attack as an 'accident', back in July referred to slain Al Qaeda chief and at one time the world's most wanted man as "Osama-ji"

Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala back in 2016 called Afzal Guru, the convict of 2001 Indian Parliament attack as 'Afzal Guru ji'. Though, he later took at back, stating it was 'slip of tongue'.
