PM Modi Talks About Government Schemes And Pakistan's Water Supply


PM Narendra Modi spoke about stopping water going to Pakistan and the farming schemes launched by the Central Government while addressing a rally in Haryana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally on Tuesday in Haryana's Charkhi Dadri district. While at the rally, PM Modi said that the BJP government is working effortlessly towards the growth of agriculture. Talking about farmer related schemes, PM Modi discussed how the government is looking into improving the irrigation and earnings of the farmers. 

Praising the efforts taken by Haryana CM Manoharlal Khattar and his team, PM Modi said, "In Haryana, Manoharlal Ji and his team have worked sensitively for the betterment of the farmers". Adding further, PM Modi also spoke about how the canals of Haryana who faced water scarcity, now have a consistent supply.

Farmer Schemes

While discussing the Central Government launched schemes for the farmers, PM Modi said, "During Lok Sabha elections, we had said that as soon as we come to power, every farming family in the state will receive direct help from the government in their bank accounts." Adding further, he said that this was the very first thing the government did after coming to power.

PM Modi also spoke about connecting the farmers and farmworkers above 60 years of age with a pension facility. Talking about the implementation of the scheme, PM Modi said, "Around Rs 650 crore has been deposited in the bank accounts of multiple farming families of Haryana. A fixed monthly pension of Rs 3000 has been decided for a lot of farming families in the state." The Prime Minister also spoke about other ongoing projects like the irrigation projects in the state being connected to the 'Jal Jeevan Mission' and the free vaccination program for foot and mouth disease to animals.

No more water to Pakistan 

During the rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about stopping the water supply to Pakistan. "The water that was supposed to go to the farmers of the country and the farmers of Haryana, kept going to Pakistan for 70 years," he said. PM Modi also assured the people that he will stop that water from going to Pakistan and will bring it to the households of the country. "I have started working in that direction, as India and the farmers of Haryana and Rajasthan have the right on the water," he added.

Haryana Assembly Polls

The Assembly polls in Haryana will happen along with Maharashtra polls on October 21. During the rally, PM Modi also shared about his informal summit with the Chinese President and how the Chinese President had praised 'Dangal' movie which was based on the Wrestling Phogat Sisters of Haryana. Medal-winning wrestler Babita Phogat will be contesting the assembly polls from the Dadri seat of Haryana.
