Priyanka Gandhi triggers Gathbandhan ire: Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav unhappy with Congress-Bhim Army meet, considering fielding candidates in Amethi and Raebareli

The Congress leadership in Uttar Pradesh which also consists of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra might be in trouble as Mayawati and Akhilesh are not happy with the UP General Secretary meeting Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad in Meerut, said sources.

For Mayawati, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's visit ot Meerut to see Bhim Army chief is an attempt to damage BSP core vote, said sources. She will instruct the party cadre to tackle it, the sources added.

An upset Mayawati also met with Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday and asked him to not leave Raebareli and Amethi seats in 2019 for Congress. The BSP-SP coalition in the state had left both the seats for the Congress and had planned to contest in all the other seats with its partner RLD.

Sources said that Mayawati was likely to suggest removing some of the weak candidates with strong ones in seats where Congress was likely to fare better.

Mayawati will hold BSP core committee meeting on Thursday at 11 am at its headquarters in Lucknow with Akhilesh Yadav. All BSP coordinators are called for this meeting. Mayawati will discuss party's strategy and instruct party workers for the elections, said sources.

The BSP Candidate list is expected to be announced after this meeting.

The key agendas of core committee meet are to be push party cadre, neutralize Congress effect especially among Muslim voters, and to tackle rising Bhim Army influence in UP west, sources said. 

Akhilesh Yadav will also be present in the meeting, sources said. Mayawati and Yadav will hold joint election rallies for the polls and will discussing joint election rallies plan to start campaign. Both leaders will chalk out election campaign plan for mahagathbandhan. First joint rally could be held in UP west.
