Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2019's Phase 4 on April 29, Anupam Kher has been active on his Twitter handle urging citizens to come out and vote as this phase will see 957 candidates contesting for 72 seats in 9 states going to polls.

The actor without taking any names, took to his Twitter handle and wrote: "सुना है टुकड़े टुकड़े गैंग का एक सदस्य बेगुसराय से इलेक्शन लड़ रहा है। जो अपने देश का नहीं हो सकता वो आपका क्या होगा?" [sic]

In translation it means: 'I've heard a member from Tukde Tukde Gang is contesting elections from Begusarai. The one who can not be of his country, how can he be yours?'

While Anupam Kher stands opposing the CPI candidate, noted poet and Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar was clicked by his wife Shabana Azmi campaigning for Kanhaiya Kumar, the CPI candidate who is contesting from Begusarai.

Shabana shared a picture of Akhtar addressing the crowd and wrote: "⁦@Javedakhtarjadu⁩ in Begusarai canvasing for ⁦@kanhaiyakumar⁩" [sic]

Before Javed Akhtar, actor Prakash Raj also campaigned for Kanhaiya Kumar. Sharing pictures from his rally, Prakash Raj tweeted, “As I Campaign for @kanhaiyakumar through Rajora...meghaul... manjhaul...in #begusarai ... I can feel the WINDS OF CHANGE ..I can see HOPE in their eyes ... and I’m ASSURED of #citizensvoice in parliament.. #chowkidarSena won’t be able to stop this YOUNG VOICE OF INDIA..JAI HIND.”

And earlier, actress Swara Bhasker too gave her first political speech supporting Kanhaiya Kumar in Begusarai. She wrote on her Twitter: "बोल के लब आज़ाद हैं तेरे, 
बोल ज़बान अब तक तेरी है..@kanhaiyakumar is a principled politician & an admirable & fine orator! hope he gets to display these skills & his sincerity in #Parliament Gr8 way to translate “you have nothing to lose but your chains, and a world to win." [sic]
