'The power of youth will strengthen our democracy': PM Modi calls upon Sushant Singh Rajput, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon asking them to join the 'Vote Kar' campaign

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated a Twitter campaign yet again and reached out prominent personalities from a wide spectrum of society with a series of tweets, urging them to help bring more people out to vote in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Following the 'Vote for India' campaign that was executed last week, the country chief on Sunday, March 24, came up with the 'Vote Kar' initiative asking several celebrities from the sports and entertainment industry to contribute to the cause.

In a recent Tweet, he addressed Bollywood actors, Sushant Singh Rajput, Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon and asked them to influence the mass so that maximum Indians exercise their franchise. 

In the post, he wrote, "I call upon @itsSSR, @TheAaryanKartik and @kritisanon to help increase voter awareness. You are the younger generation that is taking Indian cinema places. The power of youth will also strengthen our democracy. Tell everyone- #VoteKar"

Encouraging the voters of India to turn out in huge numbers in the upcoming Lok Sabha 2019 polls, he also wrote, "My fellow Indians, The time has come to say- #VoteKar. In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, ensure that you as well as your family and friends turn out in record numbers. Your doing so will have a positive impact on the nation’s future."

This comes barely weeks ahead of the first phase of the Lok Sabha election, scheduled on April 11. The Election Commission announced the dates of General Elections 2019. The nation will go into polls in seven phases beginning from April 11 till May 19. The counting of votes for all the states is scheduled to take place on May 23.
