A day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) went all guns blazing against Rahul Gandhi for using 'ji' while referring to Jaish chief Masood Azhar, the Congress has hit back at their rival party by releasing a video of Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad using 'ji' while referring to 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed.
Congress' National spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi has posted a video on Twitter, in which the Law and IT minister could be heard saying 'Hafiz ji' while addressing the media on a matter.
"Friends, Patra has recorded an old statement of Hafiz ji which we will show you. It is old, you will see. But Congress party's words are being apprectiated by Pakistan," the Union Minister could be heard saying in the press briefing whose video has been released by the Congress.
Rahul Gandhi had on Monday while addressing a rally of his party workers, referred to Jaish-e-Mohamed chief as 'ji' as he tried to attack the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government for releasing Masood Azhar in 1999.
"40 CRPF soldiers lost their lives. Who was responsible for the bombing? Listen, it was Jaish-e-Mohammad. Masood Azhar. Do you remember? Now, the one who has 56-inch chest, do you remember that during his previous government, the Security Advisor Ajit Doval sat with Masood Azhar Ji in an aircraft and handed him over to Kandahar," he said.
While the party immediately came out in defence of its president, claiming it was a 'sarcastic' remark, the BJP took on the Congress chief for his honorific.
