Reel-life ‘PM Narendra Modi’ Vivek Oberoi has not shied away from displaying his admiration for the real-life PM Narendra Modi and his ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). As the actor lends his support to various campaigns of the party in Delhi, he has been showering digs at the Congress party. After saying that ‘Chowkidaars’ won’t allow India to be 'robbed' again by foreigners on Saturday, the ‘Yuva’ star once again took a dig at the Gandhi sibling duo over their recent statements.
Vivek, who is in Delhi at the moment, had participated in the 'Saaton Seetein Modi Ko' (All 7 seats to Modi) campaign at the India Gate on Saturday. A day later, the actor attended the ‘To Volunteer for Modiji’ campaign in the capital.
The ‘Saathiya’ star took a dig at Congress President’s recent claim that BJP was set to lose in the Lok Sabha polls on the basis of an assessment by saying such comments were made last time too like there is a wave this time again.
At the event, Vivek said, “We recently watched the interview of the ‘Shehzada Sahab’ where he was talking about some survey that claimed BJP is losing (in the elections). I felt, like it happens in our films, that this was a retake, the same clip of 2014 because in 2014 too, the same talks happened. And we all saw the result then. There is a wave, whether you acknowledge or not, that can be seen”
He added, “Secondly, our film was stalled. People have got so scared with just the trailer that they approached the Supreme Court, the High Court, the Election Commission to stop the film. So I’d like to say, this was just the trailer, ‘Picture abhi baaki hai dost' (movie is no finished yet).”
Vivek’s ‘PM Narendra Modi’ biopic has been cleared for release on May 24 after being stalled by the Election Commission when the Model Code of Conduct was in place. The actor is now inviting the Gandhi family, including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who recently made headlines for saying Congress will only ‘cut’ votes of BJP, to watch the movie. He has asked the duo to keep their ‘2+2= 5’ calculation aside and also informed them of holiday packages to enjoy after the results are announced on May 23.
The actor said, “On 24th, our film is releasing, we’d like to say that leave your ‘do aur do paanch’ calculation aside and come with the full family. Even Rajkumari ji (princess), she has come with Italian scissors to cut the votes. We had earlier thought they wanted to win. But they are resorting to cutting, we have understood it”.
"On 24th, the movie is releasing and 23rd, the results are going to be announced, so come with the full family. Of late, we’ve heard of good holiday packages for Italy and Thailand, please go ahead with those holidays. Jai Hind!” (Watch the video above)
