'You Made It! God Bless,' Writes Superstar Rajinikanth Congratulating PM Modi As The NDA Blazes Ahead In The 2019 Lok Sabha Election Results

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA has stormed ahead with leads in 350 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections at the time of publishing

As the counting of votes is underway in the nation for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections for the 542 seats in the 29 states and 7 Union Territories, and the BJP leading with more than 300 seats, Superstar Rajinikanth took to his Twitter handle to congratulate the Prime Minister.

He wrote: "Respected dear @narendramodi ji 
hearty congratulations ... You made it !!! God bless." [sic] Below is the tweet -

While the BJP and NDA appear to have an almost insurmountable lead, PM Modi personally leads in Varanasi after winning 232820 votes in his Parliamentary election contest. With its allies, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance has crossed the 300-seat leads mark in the 543-member Lok Sabha.

Having won resoundingly from Kashi in 2014, Prime Minister Modi is seeking re-election form the seat. Against him is Congress’ Ajay Rai and Mahagathbandhan’s Shalini Yadav.

Modi took to his Twitter and wrote: "सबका साथ + सबका विकास + सबका विश्वास = विजयी भारत

Together we grow. 

Together we prosper. 

Together we will build a strong and inclusive India.  

India wins yet again! #VijayiBharat" [sic]

The counting of votes began at 8 am on May 23 in each of the 542 constituencies (the Vellore Lok Sabha polls had been countermanded). 

With high-pitched and intense election campaigning, the 2019 polls spanned seven phases across two months, ended on May 19, witnessing the Election Commission handling 22.3 lakh ballot units, 17.3 lakh VVPATs and 16.3 lakh control units.
