19-year-old Woman Security Guard Allegedly Raped By Manager In Ghaziabad, Dies Later 

Law enforcement officials told Republic that the 19-year-old was asked to report alone in a room by her manager between 11 am and 11:30 am.

A 19-year-old woman who worked as a security guard at a housing society in Ghaziabad died apparently by consuming poison after she was raped by her senior manager. Police have arrested Ajay Singh (34), the accused in the case. Ghaziabad Police has registered a case under Sections 376 (sexual assault) and 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The alleged rape is said to have taken place on Sunday, August 27.  

Law enforcement officials told Republic that the 19-year-old was asked to report alone in a room by her manager between 11 am and 11:30 am. After the woman came out of the room, she is said to have began crying. It is speculated by law enforcement that she consumed poison. Soon after, her health is said to have deteriorated. She was moved to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital on Monday morning where she died. 

The postmortem report is awaited.
