Phase 4 of Lok Sabha General Elections 2019 that were held on April 29 saw the country voting for 72 seats across 9 states. The state of Maharashtra had 17 seats and Mumbai city saw several Bollywood actors and industrialists including Paresh Rawal, Hema Malini, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Mukesh Ambani, Anand Mahindra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and many more coming out to vote.

A day later, Amitabh Bachchan on Tuesday morning took to his Twitter handle to appreciate the efforts made by the people. Around 57.32 per cent voter turnout was recorded for the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra in comparison to 55.72 per cent during the 2014 elections. Commenting on the same Amitabh Bachchan wrote: "T 3149 - आज के मुंबई के अख़बारों में , 'एक ऊँगली' की तस्वीरों को इतनी प्राथमिकता कभी नहीं मिली ; और मेरा ऐसा मानना है की यदि मिली होगी तो , मतदान वाले दिन ही मिली होगी  !
जय लोक-तंत्र, जय प्रजातंत्र , जय जनतंत्र ; JAI HIND !! 🇮🇳"
