"Aaj aapne hamaray dil ki baat keh di": Omar Abdullah praises PM Modi's 'Our fight is for Kashmir, not against Kashmiris' statement over attacks on Kashmiris post Pulwama

Former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir and JKNC leader Omar Abdullah, on Saturday, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stance on the recent attacks on Kashmiris in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack.

Former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir and JKNC leader Omar Abdullah, on Saturday, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stance on the recent attacks on Kashmiris in the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack. While addressing a rally in Rajasthan's Tonk district, PM Modi sent a strong message to the nation, saying that 'our fight is for Kashmiris and against terrorism, not against the Kashmiris'. 

Thanking PM Modi for his stance in the matter, Omar Abdullah took to Twitter and wrote, "Aaj aap ne hamaray dil ki baat keh di (Today, you spoke our heart out loud)". 

In another tweet, Omar Abdullah said that after PM Modi's statement on the attacks on Kashmiris around the country, in the wake of the terror attack perpetrated by JeM terrorist led by Pakistan on February 14, the 'forces targeting the Kashmiri will stop in their tracks'.

While addressing a rally on Saturday. PM Modi condemned the attacks on the Kashmiri students in various parts of the country, asserting on the need of the hour to tackle terrorism which is the demand of not only Indians, but of the Kashmiris as well who have been on the receiving end of the atrocities in the light of the terror attack.

"Our fight is against terrorism, against the enemies of humanity. Our fight is for Kashmir and not against Kashmir. In the previous days, what happened, big or small, with the children of Kashmir in various parts of India, what happened is not the agenda.. the agenda is it should not have happened. Every child of Kashmir is disturbed due to the prevailing terrorism. They also want to finish terrorism and in this fight they are ready to support us. We have keep them together with us," PM Modi said.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Friday directed the Chief Secretaries and DGPs of 11 states to take "prompt" action to prevent incidents of "threat, assault and social boycott" of Kashmiris, including students, in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack. Former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah welcomed the Supreme Court directive.

 In a recent incident of assault on Kashmiri students after the Pulwama terror attack, students from the northern state studying in a college in Yavatmal were attacked by members of Yuva Sena, the youth wing of Shiv Sena, police said on Thursday.
