NSA (National Security Advisor) Ajit Doval is currently on a two-day review visit to the Jammu and Kashmir amid the security conditions in the region.

NSA (National Security Advisor) Ajit Doval went on a two-day review visit to the Jammu and Kashmir amid the security conditions in the region. Republic TV has accessed multiple exclusive videos from his visit to the Shopian region, in which the NSA can be seen having lunch with the local citizens of the region. He can be seen interacting with the locals, taking a review of their day-to-day activities and assuring them that the situation is normal in the sector. 

In the 8 exclusive videos accessed by Republic TV from Kashmir, NSA Ajit Doval is seen interacting with the local citizens of Shopian region of J&K, and eating food with them in broad daylight on the streets.

In other videos, he is seen briefing the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army about the current situation and assuring them of normalcy in the state.

During his visit, Ajit Doval had also met Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar. The NSA and the Governor had discussed the prevailing external and internal security situation in J&K, as per the tweet shared by news agency ANI.  Both of them had also stressed on the need for ensuring the safety of the people and constant alertness, preparedness, and synergy among various departments.

Ahead of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, NSA Ajit Doval had also briefed Home Minister Amit Shah in a high-level meeting which was also attended by Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and other top security officials.

Parliament revokes Article 370, passes J&K Reorganisation Bill

This development has come amid the revocation of the provisions of Article 370 that gave Jammu and Kashmir a special status. The Lok Sabha passed the resolution on Tuesday, while it was passed in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. The BJP-led Modi government had moved the resolution in Parliament to revoke the special status of J&K and the Bill (Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019) seeking bifurcation of the border state into two Union territories - Jammu and Kashmir with legislature and Ladakh without legislature.
