Accessed: Two letters by the CJI case complainant in March 2019 to the DCW, Delhi Lt Governor

In a super exclusive newsbreak, two days after a Supreme Court in-house committee “ found no substance in the allegations” of sexual harassment against the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, and one day after anti-CJI protest were held by a few in front of the Supreme Court, Republic TV accessed two letters by the complainant.

In a super exclusive newsbreak, two days after a Supreme Court in-house committee “ found no substance in the allegations” of sexual harassment against the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, and one day after anti-CJI protest were held by a few in front of the Supreme Court, Republic TV accessed two letters by the complainant.

One letter, dated 27 March is addressed  Swati Maliwal, Chairperson of the Delhi Commission of Women and the other letter to Anil Baijal, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. 

While the complainant had accused the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi  of making sexual advances towards her on October 10 and 11, 2018 in her 28 page affidavit to 22 Supreme Court judges in April, the letters accessed allege that an officer of the Delhi police (Tilak Marg) along with other police officers harassed and threatened her and her husband. In these letters, there are no references made to the Chief Justice of India. 

The letter by the complainant to the Delhi Commission of Women speaks of alleged misconduct by the police and says “galat vyavhar kiya, gali galoch ki aur apne pair se kheench kar mere ko laat mari”.  The complainant has alleged that she was arrested by the police, manhandled, handcuffed and taken to the police station after which she was threatened over a "fake bribery" case. Republic TV has also accessed a consequent Order wherein the Delhi Police appear to have taken action against the cop in question. 

Similarly, the letter is addressed to Anil Baijal, the Lt. Governor of Delhi has no references to the Chief Justice of India or the sexual harassment allegations against him. The talks of “jhoote mukadme”, “gair kanooni karyavahi”  and describes how policemen indulged in scaring and threatening her and her husband.

After a Supreme Court in-house committee “ found no substance in the allegations”  against the Chief Justice, there were protests outside he Supreme Court lawns on Tuesday.
