Update at 4:59 pm: Harsimrat Kaur Badal meets the US envoy-
A day after President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) Manjit Singh GK was attacked in California, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal has alleged that the men who were behind the attack have links with Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. She also added that these attackers enjoy the support of senior Congress leader and accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riot case, Jagdish Tytler.
"Heads of 'Sikhs for Justice' who are direct beneficiaries of ISI and work on their orders and are supported by those who are in direct touch with the likes of Jagdish Tytler, and Jasbeer Singh Lobana and his son Gagandeep Singh Lobana, were seen attacking him (Manjit Singh GK). Jasbeer Singh Lobana is the same person who has spent three months in jail for trying to intimidate an eyewitness against Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 massacre", she said.
"These people are attacking that person (Manjit Singh GK) of Sikh community, who has been fighting for years to get justice, to put Jagdish Tytler behind bars and to ensure that people get to know the reality of the Gandhi family. This attack clarifies that the nexus between the Congress party, the Sikhs for Justice and the ISI," she added.
Mounting a scathing attack on Congress President Rahul Gandhi over his '1984 anti-Sikh riots' comment in London, she said:
"Rahul Gandhi said in the UK that Congress had no role in 1984 anti-Sikh riots and within a few hours our president Manjeet Singh GK was attacked. You will find a connection between the attackers and Rahul Gandhi."
Meanwhile, Harsimrat Kaur Badal will meet US envoy in connection with the attacks on Manjit Singh GK and has also urged the United States government to ensure his security.
Earlier, President of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) and leader of Akali Dal, Manjit Singh GK, was attacked amid chants of ‘Khalistan Zindabad’ by pro-Khalistan supporters in Yuba City in Northern California, USA. He was scheduled to visit San Jose, however, things took an ugly turn as the Akali Dal leader was physically assaulted for the second time in the span of five days, the first attack coming in New York.
Releasing a statement immediately after the incident, Manjit Singh GK said," I had come to Yuba city Gurudwara with other pilgrims. We had come here to pay our respects. Around 20-25 men entered the Gurudwara premises and attacked me. Considering the scenario and respecting the sanctity of a Gurudwara I told my supporter to not reach out to such elements. Despite the brutality with which they have attacked me, I am absolutely fine. I am still here and will visit the Gurudwara with my head bowed down. I will continue my fight. I was attacked in New York as well. They tried to attack me in Delhi too. Today 25-30 men pounced on me. They tried to kill me. It is God's miracle that I am still alive in front of you all. I respected the sanctity of Gurudwara and they did not, they will pay for it. They attacked me and ran off. I think some of them have been caught by the cops. I hope God will grant them some sense. Waheguru Ji da khalsa, Waheguru Ji di fateh"
