Bihar Governor Satyapal Malik on May 18 at a public function in Patna had made sensational claims regarding the three-decade-old Bofors Scam case. Satyapal Malik had claimed that former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi was innocent in the Bofors Scam case. Rather, his aides were involved in the scam and, in turn, to save them, Rajiv Gandhi got embroiled in the matter, Malik claimed.

The remarks caught the eye of Bofors Scam advocate Ajay Agarwal who has now addressed a letter to the Bihar Governor to reveal the names of these aides of Rajiv Gandhi in the interest of the nation. The letter requesting the Bihar Governor to disclose names has been exclusively accessed, and speaking to Republic TV, Ajay Agrawal said,

''Bihar Governor should immediately reveal the names of the persons which he claims that he knows who were allegedly involved in the Bofors scam and if need be, also cooperate in the investigation so that CBI may reach a logical conclusion.'

However, as he is holding a constitutional position, it is the prerogative of the Bihar Governor whether or not he responds to the letter.

"Bofors scam was the first biggest defence scam which had threatened the security of the country. The revelation of the names known to Governor of Bihar will boost this three-decade-old case further and bring about much-needed closure", said by Ajay Agarwal, who had fought from the Raebareli constituency in the 2014 general elections against Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The CBI had, in February, moved a district court in New Delhi seeking re-investigation of the scam. However, not much progress has been made in the matter as the original case records are in the custody of the Supreme Court.

The trial court decided to take up the matter after the summer vacation after noting the submission of Agrawal that he would file an application in the apex court for transfer of the original case records to the Tis Hazari court.

Here are the letters to the Bihar Governor:
