After BJP's expose on Rahul Gandhi-Scorpene deal link, Subramanian Swamy lauds PM Modi's work against corruption. Here is what he said

After Rahul Gandhi's dubious link to the Scorpene deal and allegations against him by the BJP of having benefited from the deal surfaced on Saturday, BJP leader Subramanian Swamyhad words of praise for PM Narendra Modi.

He said that the BJP government did nothing for his fight against corruption, PM Modi created an environment where he could work comfortably to "fix the corrupt".

"While BJP govt did nothing for my fight against corruption, and one Minister tried to sabotage it, yet the Namo govt created an environment where I could work comfortably, without looking over my shoulder, to fix the corrupt. Work in process," he said in a tweet on Sunday.

Hours after Rahul Gandhi's dubious link to the Scorpene-class submarine deal via a business partner in his UK firm Backops came out into the open, the BJP spelt out a sensational case against the Congress president highlighting how his allegations in the Rafale case have now come full circle in terms of the mirroring alleged modus-operandi.

Addressing the media on Saturday, Arun Jaitley levelled stinging charges at Rahul Gandhi, saying the expose was "the story of a man who aspired to be a defence deal-pusher and today aspires to be the Prime Minister of India."

Jaitley reminded that Rahul Gandhi cannot continue to be silent over several such allegations against members of the Gandhi family, including on Republic TV's earlier newsbreaks on the Congress chief's dealings with Unitech's Sanjay Chandra and Jignesh Shah. "The right to silence isn't available to political leaders, particularly not to those who aspire to be PM," Jaitley said.
