After Instagram, PM Narendra Modi tops the list of Most Talked About Indian Accounts on Twitter

After the photo-sharing platform Instagram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the numero uno Indian leader on Twitter as well, as per the social networking portal.

With the Lok Sabha polls inching closer, prominent Indian politicians have taken to Twitter to not only campaign for their parties, but also to interact with the voters. PM Narendra Modi with 44.6 million followers as of December 2018 of Twitter has defeated Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who stands at the seventh position with 36.9 million followers. 

Besides PM Modi, four other Indian politicians have also made it to the top 10 list of Most Talked About Indian Accounts 2018 on Twitter. With Congress president Rahul Gandhi taking the second position, BJP president Amit Shah and UP CM Yogi Adityanatha have taken the third and fourth position respectively. 

Other political personalities in the list are Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal at fifth position and Madhya Pradesh CM and BJP leader Shivraj at tenth position in the list.

Earlier on Friday, PM Modi registered an extraordinary growth in his social media following, leaving him far and away the most followed world leader on Instagram. He became the most followed global leader on Instagram for the second time in a row with 15.5 million followers on Instagram.

As per the latest report, based on open information, PM Modi, who had just joined the photo-sharing application a year ago, has overtaken former US President Barack Obama to become the most followed head of state on Instagram.
