After the RSS increased its pitch for construction of the Ram Mandir earlier on Friday, the VHP has backed the organisation.

VHP's International President Vishnu Sadashiv Kokje speaking to the media said that it will make its stand on the matter clear after speaking with saints in the Dharma Sansad and announce its decision on February 1, 2019. He also said that the VHP does not question the government's intention for building the Ram Mandir.

Kokje spoke to the media from Pragyaraj in Uttar Pradesh. Here is what he said.

"Ram Janmabhoomi is a key matter for us from the past many years. VHP is working day and night for this.have demanded an Ordinance. We have seen what the Supreme Court has said.  The apex court said it is a land dispute . We are only getting assurances, but on the ground, nothing is happening. We have discussed a lot with many people as what to do in this regard.

We are still demanding that Mandir should be built. We will put every things in Dharma Sansad and we will listen to saints. We had decided that on January 31 / February 1, we will do a Dharma Sansad and we had decided to do what saints will say," he said

We cant question PM Modi's  integrity or say that he does not want the Mandir to be built.  The government is doing what it can but I think they should consult fine people to bring an Ordinance. We can't say that the government is not doing anything on the Ram Mandir issue. Our talks are going on.," he said.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) had upped the ante in its efforts to build the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, with its general secretary Bhaiyaji Joshi on Friday saying that the existence of temple in Ayodhya will help the nation develop and prosper for at least 150 years while also stating that it shall be constructed by 2025.

At the present moment, the case pertaining to Ram Janmabhoomi is sub judice, with the Supreme Court to decide on January 29 regarding the schedule of the hearing of the case. While the BJP, who are in power at the Centre, has stated that it will wait for court's order before taking next step, the RSS is very clear about the temple.
