Anupam Kher who accompanied wife Kirron Kher for filing nomination from the Chandigarh constituency on Thursday, spoke to a daily about his wife, his political plans and more.

Anupam Kher in the interview said that he was really happy to see the love people showered on Kirron during the roadshow. Kher said that Kirron has shifted her base from Mumbai to Chandigarh only because she is a committed person.

He also said that it is 'fantastic to see' Bollywood celebrities like Urmila Matondkar, Sunny Deol and others entering politics. When asked if he plans to join politics, Anupam Kher said that he has a work contract abroad and he represents India internationally, so for the time being he will not be able to join politics but he can't say. He concluded by saying that he may feel like 'going for it after a few years'.

While campaigning for wife and BJP candidate Kirron Kher in Chandigarh, Bollywood actor Anupam Kher heaped praises for PM Narendra Modi and claimed that there is 'no leader who matches his stature'

Ahead of Kirron Kher's nomination, amid the rally the actor expressed his confidence over his wife's victory.  Kher stated that the Opposition leaders fail to bring their vision for the country, but only want to pull Modi down.

He said, "The critics of this government can say what  they want, but in the past 5 years there are no corruption scandals, no matter what some people say, nothing happened we know. PM Modi doesn't want anything, he said it once that 'I can with a jhola and will leave with one', so keeping his credibility in mind, small small things should not be given attention."

"Whoever the Opposition leaders are, they should speak about their vision for India's future, and not by saying we want to remove him. As an individual I feel, its a very unfortunate thing that no matter what you say in your manifesto, you mission is to remove him (Modi), but on what basis? and why?" he added.
