At the outset, I would like to commend all the air warriors on parade today. Your spirited and impressive demonstration this morning makes us very proud of the blue uniform.

Air Force Day is a momentous occasion when we look back on our glorious past with pride and satisfaction in our achievements over the last eight decades. On behalf of all the men and women serving in the Indian Air Force, I acknowledge with gratitude the contributions made by all our veterans whose resilient spirit, leadership and vision, have laid the foundation of today's Air Force. Today as we celebrate the Air Force Day, our thoughts and prayers are also with the families of our martyrs, who made the supreme sacrifice at the line of duty. I pay tribute to all those brave men and women. It makes us proud of our rich legacy.

I am extremely happy to compliment all the Air warriors for maintaining the operational preparedness of a very high order. In recent years, the geopolitical environment has been rapidly changing and uncertainties have created numerous challenges in national security. It is extremely important that we are always vigilant and alert to the existing sub-convention threat.

In the year gone by, the Indian Air Force has demonstrated its resolve and capability in punching the perpetrators of terrorism and we need to be aware meet any contingency that challenges the defense of our country.

We acknowledge the contribution of all personnel of the commands involved, stations who silently and professionally contributed to the airstrikes on terrorist camps in Balakot earlier this year. Apart from this, the IAF has achieved a number of milestones in the years gone by. Our helicopters deployed have provided round the clock aid to the paramilitary forces.
