Akshay Kumar appears before SIT in Chandigarh, to be probed on Punjab sacrilege case: LIVE UPDATES

He has been summoned for questioning by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) regarding the 2015 Punjab sacrilege case. The Bollywood actor arrived in Chandigarh on Wednesday morning and has reached the SIT office where he will be interrogated.

Update at 10: 55 AM: Akshay Kumar's interrogation with SIT has now finished. The actor has been allowed to leave. He was summoned at 9:30 AM but was initially supposed to appear at 11:00 AM. However, the meeting rescheduled a little earlier stating security reasons. 

Update at 10: 52 AM: In a panel report accessed by Republic TV, on page 163, there is a statement from one Harbans Singh Jalal that a meeting had indeed taken place between Sukhbir Singh Badal and Ram Rahim at the residence of the actor in Mumbai. Akshay Kumar has been having a pretty fruitful 2018 with plenty of good films in store for 2019. However, the actor has been summoned for questioning regarding an important matter. He has been summoned for questioning by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) regarding the 2015 Punjab sacrilege case. Now, the actor has reached Chandigarh as instructed.

The Bollywood actor arrived in Chandigarh on Wednesday morning and has reached the SIT office where he will be interrogated regarding his alleged involvement with Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. He is likely to be questioned about an alleged meeting he had with the self-styled godman and politician Sukhbir Singh Badal in Mumbai. Akshay will also likely be probed along the grounds of his proximity with the politician, his role in the release of Ram Rahim's film MSG and his involvement with the Punjab government in terms of holding events.
