Anand Mahindra tweets about united India ahead of the Ayodhya verdict

Hours ahead of the much anticipated Ayodhya verdict, Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra has given his insight as to he perceives the verdict. The Auto-maker has taken to Twitter to express his opinion about the verdict. Mahindra has tweeted, "I will not await this verdict with apprehension. I will pray for a judgment that makes us an even stronger and more united country..."

A monumental event in India history

The most monumental event in Indian history, the Supreme Court of India is all set to give its verdict in the Ayodhya Land dispute on November 9, Saturday. This comes after the Supreme Court reserved its verdict after 40 days of marathon hearings on October 16.

Security measures undertaken to ensure peace prevails 

Mobile internet service suspended in Bharatpur, Rajasthan till 6 am tomorrow (November 10) ahead of verdict on Ayodhya land dispute case today. Delhi police have increased security measures across the national capital and instructed officials to keep a close watch on sensitive areas in the city while readying additional personnel for deployment in the event of a mishap. Security has been beefed up across the country.

In Ayodhya, so far, 18,000 state police personnel, 3,000 state Rapid Action Force staff, and 4,000 Central troops have been deployed to maintain law and order. Security forces have been directed by the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure that nobody is allowed to spread any communal message, including political and religious leaders within the State. Schools in various parts of the country have been closed for today as a precautionary measure ahead of the verdict. Section 144 CrPC has been clamped across various states such as Jammu & Kashmir and Madhya Pradesh besides Uttar Pradesh. Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi's security has been upgraded to Z-plus which is one of the highest and is provided by one of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), preferably the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have also been provided with Z-plus security cover. Security outside the residences of the five judges on the Constitution Bench has also reportedly been beefed up.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on November 8, appealed to the citizens to not view the verdict as a 'win or loss' and added that people should not react to rumours. Adityanath has also warned of strict action against those defying the law. Schools in UP have been instructed to remain closed today.
