BSP chief Mayawati and Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has condemned the death of the Apple employee Vivek Tiwari, who was shot dead by Uttar Pradesh police in the state. They have also urged the Uttar Pradesh government to take swift and strict actions against the UP police.
In a press Conference, the Bahujan Samaj Party leader said that a high-level investigation is needed.
"I condemn what happened with Vivek Tiwari. Our party is with them. Action should be taken against police and administration and a high-level investigation needed. The government shouldn't hesitate to take action. We want justice for the deceased family. The Government should take a lesson from this incident and take stern action against the police department. Sending Ministers doesn't help, the government has to act. The law and order system collapsed in UP and no one is safe", she said.
Meanwhile, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh said:
"Who is responsible for this? The government is responsible for this. Samajwadi Party demands a proper job for Vivek's wife. People are scared. This is not one incident. The public will only decide now. The Loktantra will reply", he said.
Earlier on Monday, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with the wife and brother-in-law of the deceased in his residence on Monday to assure the family that the state government will provide all possible help they need in the case. The UP CM has ascertained the victim's family that a CBI probe will be ordered in to look into the matter. The UP government has further constituted a SIT probe in the case.
"He heard what I had to say and assured help. I had earlier also said that I have faith in our state government, and today that faith has become more strong," says Kalpana Tiwari, wife of Vivek Tiwari, after meeting UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dinesh Sharma has also announced Rs. 25 lakh for the family, including a Rs. 5 lakh deposit for Vivek Tiwari's kid's education and Rs. 5 lakh deposit for his mother.

Earlier on Saturday, a sales employee of multinational technology company Apple was shot dead in Lucknow by a constable of the Uttar Pradesh police, allegedly after he refused to stop his SUV car after the policemen who were on patrol duty asked for checking the vehicle.
The victim, identified as Vivek Tiwari, was dropping his colleague Sana Khan home when the incident took place near the Gomti Nagar Extension area in the early hours of Saturday between 1:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m.
