Elaborating on the investigation, the Uttar Pradesh Police official spoke to Republic TV and ascertained that they received tip-off of the illegal trade.

"We raided the day before, and we found one tamancha (country-made pistol), three tamanchas of .315 bore with 16 cartridges and a pistol of .32 bore with two magazines with 8 cartridges. The Madrasa superintendent named Sajid was arrested along with five others and was sent to jail. According to our investigation, he has two people named Arif and his brother Asif.
